This
page is dedicated to my favourite betting strategy which I developed
last year and tested in the latter half of the 11/12 season. It focuses
on identifying home picks from the major European leagues which I feel
statistically offer value and can be backed at odds of better than evens
(but generally under 2/1). The test delivered a yield of approximately
15% although when back tested over the last 5 seasons it has yielded
between 20-28% depending on the staking plan adopted. For the time
being, I will be using a rounded version of the square root staking
plan.
While
reading a betting article, some time ago now and possibly an American article, I came across the term 'a scotch bet' which apparently refers to an even money bet.
Given the strategy's focus on even money picks and the celebratory
drinks with which I hope to toast its success, I feel calling the
strategy 'Mine's a Scotch' is suitable.
I
will be posting the picks that the strategy identifies on this page
along with a running profit & loss. I don't see myself as a
tipster, I think there are enough of those around, but if you choose to
follow, of course you do so at your own risk. For information, when I
back tested the strategy with various staking plans, the results were
very impressive for both level stakes and percentage bank plans.
All the best, Ronnie.
